Guwahati, 25 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary at the BJP state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan, here.

Remembering Vajpayee as a towering figure in Indian politics, the Chief Minister said that the former Prime Minister’s multifaceted personality as a journalist, poet, social reformer and visionary statesman continues to inspire generations. He described Vajpayee as a pioneer of value-based politics whose ideals remain relevant even today.

As part of the observance of Atal Smriti Varsh, Dr Sarma also visited a photo exhibition organised at the party headquarters, showcasing the life, times and achievements of the legendary leader. He said the exhibition vividly reflected Vajpayee’s contributions to the nation and his enduring legacy in public life.

The Chief Minister later shared that paying homage to Shraddheya Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a moment of deep reverence, reaffirming commitment to the principles and vision upheld by the former Prime Minister.---------
