Chennai, 25 December (H.S.) : Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth has dismissed ongoing media speculations regarding her party's political alliances for the upcoming elections.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, she asserted that the DMDK will make its own independent decisions regarding partnerships and will not be influenced by external rumors or analytical predictions.
She clarified that the party leadership is currently focused on strengthening its internal structure and connecting with the grassroots level across the state before finalizing any formal electoral tie-ups.
Addressing the gathered media, the DMDK leader stated that any official decision regarding an alliance would be formally announced by the party at the appropriate time. She expressed her disapproval of certain news reports that have been suggesting the party's inclination towards specific political fronts.

According to her statement, the DMDK remains a significant force in Tamil Nadu politics and will prioritize the welfare of the people and the interests of its cadres while choosing its allies.
Furthermore, she highlighted that the legacy of the late Captain Vijayakanth continues to guide the party's principles. She mentioned that the party is closely monitoring the current political landscape and the performance of various governments before taking a definitive stance.
While several parties have reportedly shown interest in collaborating with the DMDK, she reiterated that no final commitments have been made.
The general secretary urged the media to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause confusion among the public and party members, maintaining that the DMDK’s strategic moves would be revealed in due course.
