South 24 Paragnas, 25 December (H.S.): A child was seriously injured in a bomb blast on Wednesday night in Khadimachan area of Amjhara Panchayat under Basanti police station area of South 24 Paragnas district.

According to local sources, a loud explosion suddenly occurred inside an abandoned house in the area. A child was present at the time and was caught in the blast. After the explosion, fragments of bomb shrapnel were found scattered at the scene, along with bloodstains. On information, Basanti police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation.

The police have recovered bomb remnants from the scene. However, it is still unclear how the bomb got there and what its purpose was. The injured child was immediately given first aid and admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Doctors are continuously monitoring his condition. The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the area. The police have deployed pickets in the region to prevent any untoward incidents.
