Guwahati, 24 December (HS): The Gorchuk Police of Guwahati have arrested two women involved in drug trafficking. Police said on Wednesday that acting on specific intelligence inputs, a WGPD team of Gorchuk Police Station conducted a raid at Kotabari Taleb Ali Path and apprehended two habitual drug traffickers, identified as Amina Begum (35) and Ambiya Khatun (26), both residents of Tarabari in Barpeta district.

During a search, police recovered 26.49 grams of heroin, two mobile phones and ₹8,470 in cash from their possession. In connection with the incident, a case has been registered under the NDPS Act and further legal proceedings are underway, police added.---------
