Guwahati, 24 December (HS): Gorchuk police in Guwahati have arrested an elderly man in connection with a theft case. Police said on Wednesday that acting on a tip-off, a team from Gorchuk police conducted a raid at a scrap shop located in Boragaon Chariali.

During the operation, the police recovered a large quantity of stolen items. The seized materials include 36 telecom internal remote control units, copper items such as sheets, loose copper and AC pipes, along with iron rods and iron plates.

The value of the recovered stolen goods has been estimated at around ₹3 lakh. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and further legal action is underway, police added.----------
