Nalbari (Assam), 24 December (HS): A sensational robbery was reported on the Paikarkuchi–Kendukuchi connecting road in Assam’s Nalbari district, where miscreants allegedly looted cash at gunpoint from a local businessman.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the businessman was travelling along the road and was intercepted by unidentified assailants last night. The attackers reportedly brandished a pistol and forcibly took away ₹2 lakh in cash before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, panic prevailed in the area. The police were informed immediately and a search operation has been launched to trace the accused. An investigation is underway and efforts are being made to identify the culprits with the help of local inputs and possible CCTV footage.----------
