Cachar (Assam), 22 December (HS): Based on reliable inputs, Cachar Police on Monday carried out two separate anti-narcotics operations at different locations in the district, leading to the seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and the apprehension of four persons.
In the first operation, conducted at the Silchar Bypass area under Silchar Police Station, police seized 152.98 grams of heroin from the possession of suspected drug peddlers.
In another operation at Kazidahar, the police recovered and duly seized 33 soap boxes containing a total of 366 grams of heroin.
Police said that so far four persons have been apprehended in connection with the cases. Further investigation is underway to trace the larger network involved in the illegal drug trade.----------
