Guwahati, December 22 (HS): Bashistha police in Guwahati arrested three habitual thieves in connection with a theft case.

Police said on Monday that acting on a tip-off, a team from Bashistha police station conducted a search operation in the Bongaon area and apprehended the three accused while they were transporting stolen goods in an e-rickshaw (AS01-ER-2550).

The arrested persons have been identified as Altaf Ali (22) of Barpathar, Deepak Chhetri (25) of Nine Mile, and Sunil Bansfor (22) of Bongaon.

During the operation, police recovered a cutter machine (23 volt), a drill machine, an Exide battery (12 volt), and seven iron pipes from their possession. A case has been registered in connection with the incident and further legal action is underway, police added.------------
