22 Dec (HS): The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh presented the

supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the winter session of

the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly today. State Finance Minister Suresh

Khanna presented a supplementary budget of Rs 24496.98 crore for the financial

year 2025-26. The expenditure on the revenue account is Rs 18369.30 crore and

the expenditure on the capital account is Rs 6127.68 crore. The size of this

proposed supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26 is 3.03 percent of

the original budget. The original budget for the financial year 2025-26 was Rs

8 lakh 8,000 crore.

The main objective of

this supplementary budget is to meet the inadequate provisions in the existing

schemes, meet new requirements and carry forward the development works without

interruption. It has made a provision of Rs 18,369.30 crore for revenue

expenditure and Rs 6,127.68 crore for capital expenditure. The Gross State

Domestic Product (GSDP) of Uttar Pradesh is currently estimated at more than Rs

31 lakh crore. The state remains revenue surplus, which reflects the strong

financial management of the Uttar Pradesh government. Finance Minister Suresh

Khanna said that the supplementary budget has been brought to meet the

inadequate amount in the existing budget and to give impetus to the development

schemes.
