Guwahati, 22 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday paid rich tributes to legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on the occasion of National Mathematics Day, marking the birth anniversary of the world-renowned scholar.

Recalling Ramanujan’s unparalleled contribution to the field of mathematics, the Chief Minister said that the great mathematician continues to inspire generations across the globe. He extended his greetings to students and teachers of mathematics, as well as to people from all walks of life, on the auspicious occasion.

Dr Sarma expressed hope that the day would further enhance students’ interest in mathematics and contribute to the growth of knowledge and scientific temper among the youth.-----------
