
New Delhi, 21 December (H.S.): Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav chaired the 28th meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority and the 22nd Steering Committee meeting of Project Elephant at the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve in West Bengal on Sunday.
According to information released by the ministry, these key meetings conducted a comprehensive review of national strategies for tiger and elephant conservation, alongside discussions on future action plans. Senior officials from tiger and elephant-rich states, scientists, experts, and representatives from major conservation institutions participated.
Yadav commended India's globally recognized tiger conservation model. He emphasized the importance of science-based management, community participation, and inter-state as well as international cooperation to advance conservation efforts. The minister also released six significant publications to support these initiatives.
