Amravati. 17 Dec (HS): The Amravati District and

Sessions Court has slapped seven years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs

2,000 to an accused found while circulating fake currency notes. Arshid Khan

Rashid Khan (48) was found circulating fake currency notes on January 12, 2024

near Jaiswal Liquor Shop under Amravati’s City Kotwali area. Police was

informed immediately based on which Arshid Khan was arrested and fake currency

notes were found in his possession.

Assistant Government Pleader Adv Dilip D Tiwari

proved that the accused was involved in circulating fake currency notes. The District

and Sessions Court found him guilty under Sections 489 (Kh) and 489 (K) of BNS

and awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 2,000. PSI

Vijay Chavan carried out the investigation.
