
Bhubaneswar, 17 December (H.S.): Taking serious note of the incident involving photographs taken inside the Shree Jagannath Temple and circulated on social media, the Odisha government is considering the introduction of stringent penal provisions to curb such violations, said Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.
The Law Minister stated that discussions are underway at the government level to implement tough measures to completely prevent such incidents. He noted that existing laws already contain several penal provisions to deal with such violations, but necessary amendments are being examined to make them more effective.
Clarifying the government’s stand, Harichandan said that firm steps are being taken to strictly prohibit photography inside the Srimandir and to strengthen enforcement mechanisms to ensure the sanctity and security of the temple.
