BJP TN Chief Claims DMK is Only Confronting Centre, Failing to Benefit People

Chennai, 17 December (H.S.) : The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Tamil Nadu State President has launched a stinging attack on the ruling DMK government, accusing the administration of prioritising political confrontation with the Union Government over the actual welfare of the state's citizens.

During a recent public interaction, the BJP leader asserted that the DMK's constant friction with New Delhi is a deliberate strategy to divert public attention from its own failure to implement essential developmental projects and fulfill electoral promises.

He claimed that while the Centre has allocated significant funds for various infrastructure and social schemes, the state government has been slow to utilize them effectively, leading to a visible stagnation in rural and urban development.

The criticism further highlighted specific areas of concern, including the management of state resources and the implementation of central healthcare and housing initiatives. According to the BJP chief, the DMK’s rhetoric regarding federalism and state rights is being used as a shield to mask administrative inefficiencies and a lack of transparency in governance.

He argued that the people of Tamil Nadu are being deprived of the full benefits of central schemes because the state government views every collaborative effort through a partisan lens, often renaming or stalling projects to suit its political narrative rather than the needs of the beneficiaries.

In response to the current political climate, the BJP leader called for a shift in focus toward cooperative governance that prioritizes the delivery of services to the common man. He emphasized that the constant state of warfare with the Centre serves no purpose other than to bolster the DMK’s ideological standing among its core supporters, while the broader population suffers from unresolved issues in education, employment, and infrastructure.

The statement concluded with a demand for the DMK to provide a detailed account of how central funds have been spent over the last few years and to stop using the Union Government as a scapegoat for its own developmental shortcomings.
