
Nagaon (Assam), 17 December (HS): The eviction drive in Dhing continued for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, with the district administration carrying out operations as part of an ongoing effort to clear encroachments. Officials said the drive is being conducted in a phased manner across identified areas.
According to the administration, the eviction exercise will continue till December 20, during which encroached land will be reclaimed following due process. Heavy machinery and adequate security arrangements have been deployed at the sites to ensure the smooth conduct of the operation.
Meanwhile, sections of the local residents have welcomed the eviction drive and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for initiating the action. Locals said the move would help restore public land and bring long-term benefits to the area.-----------
