Delhi, 15 December (H.S.): Argentine football icon Lionel Messi's scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his GOT India Tour in New Delhi stands cancelled on Monday, despite a prepared 21-minute protocol, due to the Prime Minister's overseas commitments.

Messi, currently on a three-day visit to India, experienced minor logistical issues at his Kolkata opener at Salt Lake Stadium but enjoyed smooth engagements in Hyderabad and Mumbai thereafter.

In the capital, he is expected to meet Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Chief Justice Surya Kant among other dignitaries.The tour culminates at Arun Jaitley Stadium with an honours ceremony, followed by a coaching clinic and interaction with Minerva Academy's young players — a team that clinched three European youth trophies this year.
