
Kolkata, 15 December (H.S.): BJP Rajya Sabha MP and West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, stating that he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash from Jharkhand.
In his post, Samik Bhattacharya wrote, My Rajya Sabha colleague from Jharkhand, Shri Dipak Prakash, and I met the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah ji, regarding demographic changes being carried out in West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The two BJP MPs raised the issue of alleged demographic changes in West Bengal and Jharkhand with the Home Minister. The meeting was aimed at drawing the central government's attention to the population-related concerns in these two states.
This meeting comes amidst a political debate surrounding demographic shifts in West Bengal and Jharkhand. BJP leaders have taken this issue seriously and have brought it to the attention of the Union Home Ministry.
Home Minister Amit Shah listened to the concerns of the two MPs, and the possibility of further action on the matter was discussed.
