An accident occurred at Patsako Laipleng in Charaideo district after a pipeline belonging to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) developed a leak, leading to the discharge of crude oil along with gas.

Locals informed on Sunday that the leakage was reported from the LP-1 manifold area at Laipleng, where crude oil and gas reportedly started spewing following the rupture of the pipeline. The sudden emission raised serious safety concerns in the locality.

Soon after the incident, panic gripped the local residents, with people fearing potential fire hazards and environmental damage. On receiving information, ONGC officials were alerted and steps were initiated to assess the situation and control the leakage.

Further details regarding the extent of damage and remedial measures are awaited.
