Kolkata, 14 December (H.S.): Following the massive chaos at Yuva Bharati Stadium on Saturday during Lionel Messi's visit, an inquiry committee headed by retired judge Asim Kumar Roy inspected the stadium on Sunday morning. West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose also visited the site.

On Saturday, Yuva Bharati Stadium was transformed into a scene of chaos. Spectators, who had purchased tickets worth thousands of rupees, were unable to see Lionel Messi. In frustration, the spectators vandalized the stadium. Messi himself had left the stadium earlier. The brief appearance of Messi not only led to vandalism but also to allegations of fraud against the main organizers.

On social media, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee apologized to Messi and the spectators. Targeting the organizers, she formed an inquiry committee headed by retired judge Asim Kumar Roy.

On Sunday morning, the inquiry committee arrived at Yuva Bharati Stadium. The team included Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, Sports Secretary Rajesh Sinha, among others. Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Mukesh and Deputy Police Commissioner Anil Sarkar were also present. Representatives of the inquiry committee and Bidhannagar police inspected Yuva Bharati Stadium. The committee also video-recorded the condition of the stadium.

Later, Governor C.V. Ananda Bose also arrived to inspect Yuva Bharati Stadium. The inquiry committee, led by retired judge Asim Kumar Roy, stated that the report would be submitted within the next two weeks. They are handling the entire matter seriously. Their arrival at Yuva Bharati Stadium on Sunday morning is considered proof of their promptness.

On the other hand, the Governor was unable to enter Yuva Bharati Stadium on Saturday. However, on Sunday, he inspected the stadium for a considerable time. On Saturday, the Governor had said that while the organizers were responsible for this undesirable incident, the failure of the police administration was also to blame.

The Governor claimed that he had already alerted the state administration about the crowd. Despite this, the administration did not make any arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the event at Yuva Bharati Stadium. The investigation committee's report is expected to reveal the truth about this entire matter.
