A massive search operation has been launched at Jaldapara National Park. The entire national park has been cordoned off. A dog squad has also been deployed. Officials, along with the state police's armed forces and the Rapid Response Team, are conducting the search operation. A high alert has been issued in Jaldapara following a tip-off. Residents of areas bordering the forest have also been alerted.
After receiving information from confidential sources on Sunday morning, officials launched a search operation in the forest and surrounding areas. The search is primarily focused on four range areas of Jaldapara National Park: Kodalbasti, Chilapata, Nilpara, and Madarihat.
As per information, illegal poachers have set up a base in the area. Upon receiving this information, the state police's armed forces and the Rapid Response Team launched the operation. A dog squad has also been brought in. A thorough search is underway across the entire area. Vehicles entering and leaving the area are also being searched.
Jaldapara National Park's DFO, Parveen Kasowan, said, The search operation is mainly focused on four ranges. Residents of areas bordering the forest are also being made aware. They have been asked to inform us immediately if they spot any poachers or observe any suspicious activity.
About a week ago, the Forest Department took a major step to curb smuggling and prevent human-wildlife conflict in Jaldapara National Park. An Integrated Control Room was inaugurated. This modern Integrated Control Room was launched to further strengthen surveillance in wildlife conservation.
Following this, on Sunday, based on information from confidential sources, officials launched this search operation. The operation is ongoing, and officials are maintaining a high level of vigilance throughout the area.
