Azamgarh/

Farrukhabad, 14 Dec (HS): Dense fog in Uttar Pradesh (UP) routinely causes

catastrophic road accidents, with recent instances in December 2025 resulting

in several deaths and injuries from pile-ups caused by severely limited

visibility (as little as 10 meters).

These incidents involving buses, trucks, and vehicles illustrate a

recurrent seasonal risk in the state, prompting officials to issue warnings and

advise caution, particularly in the early mornings.

In

the first case, an uncontrolled Maruti car collided with a tree near Bhujhi

turn in the Jahanganj police station area of Azamgarh district in Uttar

Pradesh on Sunday morning, killing two people on the spot and seriously

injuring the driver. Police arrived on the scene, took the bodies into custody,

and sent the injured driver to the hospital.

Jahanganj

Police Station Officer Atul Kumar Mishra said that on Sunday, around 7 a.m., a

Maruti car suddenly went out of control and hit a roadside tree near Bhujhi

turn in the Jahanganj police station area. Three people were in the car at the

time of the accident. Siddiqui

(38), a resident of Dullapur, Ghazipur district, and Shashi Singh (40), a

resident of Semour, Jakhanian police station, Ghazipur district, died on the

spot. The car driver, Taufiq, was seriously injured. With the help of local

people, the injured driver was immediately taken to the district hospital,

where he is undergoing treatment. He is the brother of the deceased Siddiqui.

It

is being reported that these people own a clothing shop in the Jakhanian area

of Ghazipur district. They were carrying clothes from Khalilabad to Dullapur

when the accident occurred. Police, who arrived on the information, have sent

the bodies for post-mortem and are engaged in further action.

Meanwhile,

in another incident an out-of-control truck collided with a tractor-trailer

loaded with sugarcane in the Rajepur police station area of Farrukhabad

district in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. A farmer died and his brother was

seriously injured in the accident. Police have taken the truck driver into

custody and are investigating further.

Neeraj

Kumar (23), a resident of Amaiyapur village of Amritpur police station, was

going to Rupapur Sugar Mill, Hardoi, with his brother Radheshyam, carrying

sugarcane in a tractor trolley. The tractor trolley crossed the Dabri

intersection and turned towards Shahjahanpur, when a truck coming from behind

hit it hard. Due to the collision, the trolley loaded with sugarcane

overturned, due to which Neeraj Kumar and his brother Radheshyam, who were

sitting on the tractor, were seriously injured. They were immediately taken to

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in a private vehicle, where Neeraj died during

treatment. Radheshyam is undergoing treatment.

Rajepur

police station in-charge Sudesh Kumar Vishwakarma said the truck was seized and

the driver, Mohammad Khan, a resident of Naya Bans town in Rajasthan, was taken

into custody and further action is being taken. The body was sent for

post-mortem examination.
