
New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw instructed officials on Saturday to serve local cuisines specific to each region on Vande Bharat trains, offering passengers a taste of cultural heritage and enhancing their travel experience.This feature will roll out phased across all trains in the future. The directive came during a review meeting at Rail Bhavan, attended by Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Vaishnaw reported success in curbing fake ID ticket bookings, with robust verification now adding about 5,000 genuine IRCTC user IDs daily—down from a prior peak of nearly 100,000 frauds. Over 3.03 crore fake accounts deactivated and 2.7 crore suspended or flagged for suspicious activity.He mandated ticketing upgrades for seamless access via authentic user IDs.
