
New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Central District Police launched a large-scale public awareness campaign on Saturday to promote the Se Help mobile app, aimed at bolstering women's safety and emergency assistance.Around 500 auto-rickshaws, adorned with banners bearing the app's safety message, were deployed across roads to disseminate information widely.
Nirbhaya's mother, Asha Devi, flagged off the awareness rally, infusing the event with profound emotional resonance and societal significance. Delhi Police Special Commissioner (HRD) Robin Hibu also attended prominently.
Addressing the gathering, Asha Devi emphasized that women's safety transcends law enforcement, representing a collective societal duty. She reflected poignantly, noting that such an app might have saved her daughter, moving attendees and underscoring the need for vigilance.
Special Commissioner Hibu affirmed Delhi Police's commitment to smart policing, community engagement, and tech-driven security measures. He urged citizens to leverage these platforms for swift aid in crises. The Se Help app features voice commands and one-tap SOS alerts, instantly notifying random contacts and agencies for timely intervention.
The auto-rickshaw rally targeted crowded areas and public spaces in Central District, with officials anticipating a surge in app adoption and safety awareness. Police reiterated their dedication to partnering with citizens, NGOs, and tech collaborators to fortify Delhi's security.
