Delhi Police Special Cell Busts Interstate Arms Network, Seizes 11 Semi-Automatic Pistols

New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): Delhi Police's Special Cell conducted a major operation on Saturday, arresting a key member of an interstate arms smuggling racket supplying illegal weapons to criminals in Delhi and the NCR region. Authorities recovered 11 .32 bore semi-automatic pistols along with 11 extra magazines from the suspect's possession, intended for distribution to local gangsters.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell, Southern Range) Aalap Patel identified the arrested individual as Manpal (22) from Morena, Madhya Pradesh. Manpal procured sophisticated pistols from suppliers in Madhya Pradesh and delivered them to underworld elements operating in the capital region.

Following persistent intelligence about gangsters sourcing advanced firearms from Madhya Pradesh manufacturers, a team led by Inspectors Ranjeet Singh and Sanjay Kumar monitored the network for nearly a month, identifying several operatives.

On December 9, specific information pinpointed Manpal transporting a consignment from Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh, for delivery near Sarai Kale Khan.Police laid a trap and apprehended him late that night.

During interrogation, Manpal confessed to smuggling over 25 pistols from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi-NCR in previous consignments. Investigations continue to dismantle the remaining network and apprehend Madhya Pradesh-based suppliers.
