New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday demanded an immediate, transparent, and independent investigation into a video posted on social media by a Delhi University female student, alleging harassment on campus. The student organization stressed the need for a fair probe to uncover the truth and restore confidence among students and parents.
ABVP Delhi State Minister Sarthak Sharma affirmed the group's unwavering commitment to every DU student's dignity, safety, and interests. He urged the university administration to conduct an unbiased inquiry in collaboration with relevant authorities, ensuring institutional trust remains intact.
Sharma emphasized that such thorough investigations would prevent future incidents and maintain a secure academic environment. “ABVP stands fully committed to student welfare, justice, constitutional values, and institutional prestige, demanding an impartial and lawful resolution without prejudice,” he stated.
Highlighting a pattern of recent controversies tarnishing DU's reputation, Sharma warned that recurring cases erode the university's image and breed insecurity among students and parents. He called on the administration to handle each matter with utmost seriousness, sensitivity, and institutional accountability.
“Women's safety, dignity, and rights are paramount. A fair judicial process is essential, culminating in appropriate action based on verified facts,” Sharma concluded, underscoring ABVP's priority on campus security.
