Hazare has announced launching of a hunger strike in his home town Rangan

Siddhi, on January 30, 2026. Hazare announced the hunger strike saying that the

Lokayukta Amendment Bill was passed, but was not implemented.

Anna Hazare had launched a major movement against corruption,

which led to change in the power. He again launched movement to compel the

government to pass Lokayukta Act on December 2022. He announced fresh agitation

as the law is not being implemented properly.

Referring to tree felling in Tapovan for the Kumbhmela,

Anna Hazare said, Kumbhmela may be beneficial for the society and the nation,

but trees should not be felled. He requested the administration not to cut big

trees for the event. Small plants can be removed, if necessary, he added.
