Surat, 3 October (H.S.): Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, accompanied by Japan’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Hiromasa Nakano, visited the Surat construction site of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the two ministers reviewed key aspects of the project, including the track slab laying car and the track slab adjustment facility. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the ongoing work, lauding the speed of construction.The visit was seen as a testament to the strong cooperation between India and Japan in advancing the country’s first high-speed rail corridor.

Earlier in the day, Minister Nakano received a traditional Garba welcome upon his arrival at Surat airport, highlighting the cultural warmth of the reception.
