New Delhi,October 3(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a series of transformative youth-focused initiatives valued at more than Rs. 62,000 crore, emphasizing education, skilling, and entrepreneurship, with a notable focus on Bihar’s youth development.Major Skilling Initiative: PM-SETUA landmark scheme, PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs), will be launched with a Rs. 60,000 crore investment to upgrade 1,000 Government Industrial Training Institutes nationwide. This hub-and-spoke model will connect 200 hub ITIs with 800 spokes, promoting industry-managed, outcome-oriented skilling aligned with market needs. Bihar’s ITIs in Patna and Darbhanga will receive special attention initially .
Focus on Bihar’s Youth Empowerment
The revamped Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana in Bihar will provide a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,000 for two years to nearly 5 lakh graduates, coupled with free skill training. Additionally, the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, offering interest-free education loans up to Rs. 4 lakh, is set to ease higher education access for thousands. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Bihar Yuva Ayog to harness the energetic demographic of the state .
Educational and Vocational Enhancements
PM Modi will inaugurate the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University and lay the foundation for enhanced academic facilities in four Bihar universities, benefiting over 27,000 students. He will dedicate the new Bihta campus of NIT Patna, equipped with cutting-edge labs, a 5G use case lab, and an ISRO collaboration centre. Furthermore, 1,200 Vocational Skill Labs across Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Model Schools in 34 states and UTs will be inaugurated .
Skill Convocation and Employment
The Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh will felicitate 46 All India Toppers from ITIs nationwide. Over 4,000 newly recruited government candidates in Bihar will receive appointment letters, and Rs. 450 crore in scholarships will be distributed to 25 lakh students under Mukhyamantri Balak/Balika Scholarship Scheme, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to youth development .These initiatives collectively aim to empower India’s youth with modern education, skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities, reinforcing Bihar as a key hub for skilled manpower contributing to national progress .
