New Delhi, October 3(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended warm birthday greetings to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, lauding his efforts in promoting tourism and Indian culture on the global stage.

In his message on the social platform X, the Prime Minister wrote: “Birthday wishes to Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Ji, who is making extensive efforts to make India a hub for tourism and at the same time working towards popularising Indian culture. Praying for his long and healthy life.”

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, born on October 3, 1967, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has been an influential political figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Known for his grassroots connect and administrative acumen, Shekhawat was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Jodhpur in 2014 and retained the seat in 2019. Over the years, he has remained a prominent voice for Rajasthan’s people while also being active in matters of rural development, water conservation, and cultural initiatives.

Currently serving as the Union Minister of Tourism and Culture in the Modi government’s third term, Shekhawat has been at the forefront of positioning India as a global tourism hub. His ministry has been working on expanding heritage circuits, improving tourism infrastructure, and boosting cultural diplomacy. His initiatives aim to attract international visitors while also strengthening India’s soft power by showcasing its diversity and traditions across the world.
