Damascus, 21 September (H.S.): A series of powerful explosions rocked Al-Eis in the southern countryside of Aleppo in northern Syria early Monday morning. The first blast occurred at a military facility near Al-Eis, followed by several more explosions in the area. The explosions were reportedly at ammunition depots belonging to Syria’s Ministry of Defence. The information was reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Syrian state television Al-Ikhbariya and Anadolu Agency.

According to the reports, Faisal Mohammed Ali, head of operations at the Aleppo Civil Defence, said the series of explosions made it difficult for emergency and rescue teams to reach the site. The blasts occurred at ammunition depots belonging to Syria’s Ministry of Defence. The exact cause of the explosions is still under investigation.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said preliminary information indicated that the explosions occurred at an ammunition depot near Al-Eqarda. Further details are being gathered.

According to local sources, the explosions affected six sites in the area where missiles were reportedly being stored. Further information about the extent of the damage and any casualties was not immediately available.
