New Delhi, 14 August (H.S.): The Delhi High Court received a bomb threat via email on Friday, a day ahead of Independence Day. However, the threat was subsequently found to be a hoax after security agencies conducted a thorough inspection of the premises.

The threat email, received by the High Court in the morning, claimed that a 30 MB blast would take place inside the court premises at 2:11 pm. It also threatened bomb explosions at district courts at 3:11 pm. The email reportedly contained the message, “Delhi will become Khalistan.”

Officials of the Delhi High Court Bar Association said that the police were taking all necessary measures to deal with the threat. Kunal Malhotra, Joint Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, said the bomb threat was false and that all precautionary measures had been taken.

The Delhi High Court had received a similar bomb threat earlier on September 12, 2025. On August 17, 2017, a threat was also made over the telephone to the Delhi Police Headquarters, warning that the High Court would be blown up.
