MOSCOW, August 13(HS/RIA Novosti) - Leader of the Spanish right-wing Vox party Santiago Abascal on Wednesday called on Spain's Supreme Court to launch a probe into Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez for his betrayal over the government's inaction during the migration crisis in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
On Tuesday, Ceuta's Mayor-President Juan Jesus Vivas called the situation in the city unbearable and said that residents feel abandoned due to insufficient assistance from the central government.
Diseases ... fights, chaos ... Citizens in despair ... Sanchez's betrayal must be investigated by the Supreme Court. His corruption is killing people and destroying our sovereignty, the politician said on X.
He added that the city continued to feel abandoned amid a mass influx of migrants from Morocco.
At the end of July, Ceuta faced a mass wave of illegal migration from Morocco. Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said that around 72,000 migrants had entered Spain from Morocco, with around 70,000 having already returned.
