Kathmandu, 11 August (H.S.):

Police in Nepal’s Parsa district have arrested four people, including an Indian national, after recovering unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 52.5 lakh.

Acting on specific information, a police team reached Adarshanagar in Birgunj Metropolitan City and arrested the four individuals along with the cash.

According to police, the money was recovered during a search of two motorcycles bearing registration numbers Pradesh 2-03-003 Pa 7215 and Na 57 Pa 5182.

Those arrested have been identified as 26-year-old Suraj Karn, a resident of Dumra police station area in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district in India; 32-year-old Upendra Sah and 26-year-old Sagar Kumar Sarraf, both residents of Prasauni Rural Municipality in Bara district; and 25-year-old Rahul Kumar Gupta, a resident of Bindabasini Rural Municipality in Parsa district.

Police have launched a further investigation to determine the source of the recovered cash and establish the role of each of the individuals in the case.
