
Lucknow, 04 July (HS): On the death anniversary of Swami
Vivekananda, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel paid tribute to him by
offering flowers at his statue at a ceremony held at Jan Bhavan on Saturday.
Officials and employees of Jan Bhavan also offered flowers at Swami Vivekananda's
statue. They expressed their commitment to serving the nation and society by
embracing his ideals.
On this occasion, the Education Department of Jan Bhavan
presented cultural and educational programs based on the life, personality, and
thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. This included a soulful group singing of the
song Swami Vivekananda's words, implement them. Through a
theatrical presentation of excerpts from Swami Vivekananda's historic address
at the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893, Swami's eternal
message of universal brotherhood, humanity, tolerance, and Indian culture was
vividly and effectively expressed.
On this occasion, the Governor said that Swami Vivekananda's
life is a living beacon of India's eternal consciousness. In his short life, he
spread such a profound spiritual, cultural, and national consciousness that the
entire world continues to experience its impact even today.
Swami Vivekananda was a visionary national thinker, a
powerful source of inspiration for youth, and a visionary who envisioned a
bright future for India at a time when the country was navigating political
subjugation and mental despair. He conveyed to the world the message that India
represents humanity, compassion, tolerance, knowledge, spirituality, and the
eternal tradition of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One
Family), and possesses the potential to provide moral and spiritual leadership
to the world.
The Governor said that true respect for any great man comes
from incorporating his ideas into one's conduct, work, and life. She said that
today, as India moves forward towards self-reliance, innovation, inclusive
growth, and global leadership with the resolve of a developed India by 2047,
Swami Vivekananda's message becomes even more relevant: that every human being
possesses infinite power; the only need is to recognize, awaken, and utilize it
in the right direction.
The Governor said that today the world is facing conflict,
intolerance, climate change, economic inequality, and various humanitarian
crises. At such a time, Swami Vivekananda's thoughts remind us that lasting
peace is established not through displays of power, but through sensitivity,
dialogue, and shared responsibility.
She said that Swami Vivekananda's greatest faith was in the
power of youth. His inspiring message, Arise, awake, and stop not until
the goal is reached, continues to guide youth today. Swami Vivekananda
considered women's education and respect fundamental to nation-building and
called service a spiritual practice. She believed that service to humanity is
true worship of God.
The Governor called upon everyone to take a pledge on the
death anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and said that we should perform our
duties faithfully. Strengthen harmony, unity and sensitivity in the society.
Make education a medium for character building. Use science and technology for
human welfare. Give the form of a mass movement to environmental protection and
consider the empowerment of women, youth and deprived sections as our social
responsibility and actively contribute in building a developed, self-reliant,
harmonious, educated and cultured India.
On this occasion, Special Officer (Education) Dr. Pankaj L.
Jani, Deputy Secretary (Education) Hemant Kumar Chaudhary, Special Officer
(Additional Chief Level) Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer Ashok Desai
and all the officers and employees of Jan Bhavan were present.
