Hyderabad, July 4 (HS): The Election Commission (EC) has asked Kalvakuntla Kavitha to suggest alternative names for her proposed political party after receiving multiple objections to the name Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS).

According to sources, the EC informed Kavitha that several objections had been received against the proposed party name and requested her to submit alternative names for consideration as part of the registration process.

Responding to the communication, Telangana Rakshana Sena questioned the EC's move, stating that only two objections had been shared with the party while it was informed that several complaints had been received.

The party said it was not possible to suggest alternative names without being provided details of all the objections and sought complete information from the Election Commission.

Telangana Rakshana Sena also asserted that it was prepared to pursue legal remedies, if required, over the issue of the proposed party name.

Kavitha recently announced the formation of Telangana Rakshana Sena and initiated the process for registration of the party with the Election Commission.
