First-Ever Delhi & NCR North East Sports Meet Announced
Guwahati/New Delhi, 30 July (HS): The Organising Committee of the Delhi & NCR North East Sports Meet 2026, in association with the Delhi Olympic Association and the 7 Sisters Foundation, on Thursday announced the first-ever multi-sport champion

Guwahati/New Delhi, 30 July (HS): The Organising Committee of the Delhi & NCR North East Sports Meet 2026, in association with the Delhi Olympic Association and the 7 Sisters Foundation, on Thursday announced the first-ever multi-sport championship exclusively for the North East community residing in Delhi-NCR.

The event will be held from July 31 to August 2, 2026, at Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 3:30 PM on July 31. Around 1,500 to 3,000 athletes from the eight North Eastern states living, studying, or working in Delhi-NCR are expected to participate.

The organisers also unveiled the Red Panda as the official mascot, symbolising unity, sportsmanship and the rich cultural heritage of North East India. Speakers said the championship aims to strengthen community bonding and establish an annual sporting platform for the North East diaspora.----------
