Chandrapur, 03 July (HS): A youth was killed by a

wild elephant on Chandrapur-Vyahad-Sonapur road. The youth going to Sonapur

from Vyahad on a motorcycle saw a wild elephant at on a turning. He left the

motorcycle and started running for safety, but was chased by the elephant and

killed him. The youth has been identified as Atul Gohane.

The villagers already facing attacks by tiger,

leopard and other wild animals are now facing problems with the wild elephants

who have entered Chandrapur area in large numbers.

The Forest Department officials and the Police

reached the site for further action. They have appealed to the villagers to

take precaution while moving in jungles.
