
Kolkata, 03 July (H.S.): The West Bengal government has announced a major citizen-centric reform by abolishing the application fee for obtaining Records of Rights (RoR) and land plot information. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said the move is aimed at making public services more transparent, hassle-free and easily accessible.
In a message posted on X on Friday, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to ensuring that citizen services remain transparent, simple and convenient. As part of this initiative, the application fee that was previously charged for accessing land records and plot information has been formally withdrawn.
He said citizens can now download digitally signed copies of their Records of Rights and land plot information online free of cost. No application fee or certification charge will be levied for accessing these documents.
According to the Chief Minister, the decision will directly benefit landowners across the state, with farmers expected to gain significantly. They will no longer have to pay additional charges to obtain official land records, and the entire process can now be completed online with ease.
Adhikari said the government's objective is to make land-related services more transparent and citizen-friendly, ensuring that people can access essential land documents without unnecessary inconvenience.
In his message, the Chief Minister said, Your land, your right, and your information are now just a click away.
The state government believes the initiative will improve public access to land records while further strengthening digital governance and service delivery.
