Guwahati, 03 July (HS): One person was killed on the spot and two others sustained injuries in a road accident at Tetelia Bharagaon under Khetri Police Station in Assam's capital on Friday.

According to police, the accident occurred on National Highway-27 in the Dimoria area when a speeding container truck rammed into another truck travelling in the same direction. The impact caused the truck to overturn, after which an oncoming Swift Dzire car collided with the overturned vehicle.

A person travelling in the truck killed at the scene. The container truck driver suffered serious injuries, while another person travelling in the Swift Dzire sustained minor injuries. The identity of the deceased had not been established till the filing of this report.

Police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The body of the deceased was sent to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.----------
