
Noida, 28 July (HS): Acting on a tip, police at the Beta-2
police station in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a Chinese national last night.
He was living illegally in India. Intelligence agencies are intensively
interrogating the arrested suspect.
Inspector Vinod Kumar, in-charge of Beta-2 police station,
said that last night, based on a tip-off, the police arrested Song Xiaomei, a
Chinese citizen, from near NRI City. He is about 38 years old. He said he was
living in Jaypee Green Society in Greater Noida. He said that upon
investigation, it was found that he had come to India on a valid visa for one
year, from June 26, 2019, to June 25, 2020. After the visa expired, he started
living in India illegally. After the visa expired, he fraudulently obtained a
fake Aadhaar card in the Republic of India. Using the Aadhaar card, he obtained
a PAN card and other documents, and started living in Jaypee Green Society,
Greater Noida.
The investigation also revealed that he married a woman from
the northeastern state of Manipur. He has a three-year-old daughter and runs a
construction company in his wife's name. Intelligence agencies are intensively
interrogating the arrested suspect. Police are trying to determine whether he
was spying while living in India.
