Glasgow, 27 July (H.S.): Indian boxer Mdendro (Mandengbam) Jadumani Singh continued his impressive campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games by advancing to the quarter-finals of the men's 55kg boxing event. In the pre-quarterfinal bout held on Sunday, he registered a commanding 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Pakistan's Rahman Sumama.

Jadumani dominated all three rounds with an aggressive yet composed display. His accurate punching, excellent footwork and disciplined defensive strategy left the Pakistani boxer with little opportunity to make an impact. All five judges ruled unanimously in favour of the Indian boxer.

According to the official scorecard, three judges awarded the contest 30-27 in Jadumani Singh's favour, while the remaining two judges scored it 29-28, reflecting the Indian boxer's clear superiority and control throughout the bout.

Earlier, Jadumani had begun his campaign in emphatic fashion by defeating Scotland's Cullen 5-0 via a unanimous decision in the Round of 32. The victory over Rahman Sumama marked his second consecutive dominant win in Glasgow.

Jadumani Singh will now face the winner of the pre-quarterfinal between Zambia and South Africa in the quarter-finals on July 28. A victory in that contest will secure him a place in the semi-finals and guarantee at least a bronze medal at the Games.
