New Delhi, 26 July (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu returned to New Delhi on Sunday after completing her three-nation visit to Europe. The information was shared through the official X handle of the President’s Office. The visit was aimed at further strengthening India’s bilateral relations with the three European nations.

President Murmu began her visit on July 20 with Moldova. It was the first-ever visit by an Indian Head of State to Moldova, marking a significant milestone in diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Following her Moldova visit, President Murmu travelled to North Macedonia on July 21 and 22. During her visit, she addressed the Parliament of North Macedonia and also participated in the inaugural session of the India–North Macedonia Business Forum.

In the final leg of her tour, President Murmu arrived in Romania on July 23. This was the first visit by an Indian Head of State to Romania in more than three decades. During the visit, India and Romania agreed to double bilateral trade over the next three years. The two countries also held discussions on enhancing cooperation in several key sectors, including defence.

Before departing for India, President Murmu met members of the Indian community and representatives of the Friends of India organisation in Romania on Saturday.

Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, along with Members of Parliament Dinesh Sharma and Vijay Baghel, accompanied the President during the visit.
