Bhubaneswar, 25 July (H.S.): The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has announced a series of key reforms aimed at speeding up industrial approvals and strengthening the state’s ease of doing business framework.
The decisions were taken at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary and IDCO Chairperson, with participation from industry bodies, MSME representatives and trade organisations. The discussions focused on land allotment, infrastructure, utilities, logistics and regulatory improvements.
Padhee reiterated IDCO’s commitment to transparent governance, faster decision-making and regular industry engagement to enhance Odisha’s investment climate.
Over the past two years, IDCO has expanded its land bank by nearly 6,000 acres, allotted over 6,027 acres to industries and facilitated 93 major projects. It has also developed 30 MSME parks and sector-specific industrial hubs across the state.
Currently, 147 infrastructure projects worth over ₹3,500 crore are under implementation, while additional projects worth ₹1,870 crore are in the pipeline. IDCO manages around 150 industrial estates spread across 14,095 acres, supporting more than 6,600 industrial units.
Key reforms include simplified planning norms, faster approvals through pre-approved building designs, automated mortgage NOCs and a digital industrial land bank to enhance transparency. The corporation has also set a target to complete land allotment and possession within one month of approval.
Addressing industry concerns, IDCO highlighted improvements in water supply, drainage, lighting, parking and safety infrastructure. Major upgrades worth ₹500 crore are underway in key industrial estates, along with plans for multi-level parking and enhanced fire safety systems.
The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to streamline processes, boost infrastructure and position Odisha as a leading investment destination in India.
