Hooghly, 25 July (H.S.): A free health check-up camp was organised by the non-governmental organisation Shobha Jeeva Kalyan Trust at Ward No. 12 of Rishra Municipality on Saturday. The camp, held from 11 am to 2 pm, provided health check-ups to a total of 135 people.
During the camp, residents underwent screening for blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG and eye-related problems. Free medicines were also provided by the organisation to those in need. A large number of local residents participated in the camp and availed themselves of the medical services.
Sunny Kumar Singh, National President of Shobha Jeeva Kalyan Trust, said there was considerable enthusiasm among residents of Ward No. 12 regarding the initiative. A large number of people came out of their homes to attend the camp and undergo health check-ups. He said the organisation aims to make healthcare services accessible to people in need and create awareness about health-related issues at an early stage.
Several local BJP leaders and prominent members of the community were also present at the programme. Those present included Santosh Singh, BJP president of Serampore Mandal-4; BJP leaders Manoj Singh, Rakesh Chaudhary, Gopi Krishna Karnani, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Sanjay Pandey, Randhir Rai, Vijay Seal, Preet Pandey, Shambhu Sao, Santosh Mandal and Abhishek Tanti, among others.
According to the organisers, similar health camps and other social welfare initiatives will be organised in the future to provide support and healthcare services to people in need.
