New Delhi, 24 July (H.S.): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued an advisory announcing the temporary closure of 17 metro stations in the national capital on Friday due to security arrangements. The stations will remain closed from 7:30 am on July 24 until further notice.

According to the DMRC, entry and exit facilities at these stations will remain completely suspended during the closure period. However, interchange facilities will continue to be available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat metro stations, allowing passengers to change trains but not enter or exit from these stations.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the DMRC informed passengers that the affected stations include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium and Jhandewalan.

The DMRC has advised commuters to check the latest updates through its official channels before planning their journeys and use alternative routes wherever possible. Passengers have also been requested to remain updated about changes in metro services during the security restrictions.

The temporary restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure in view of the proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. Authorities have anticipated possible disruptions in traffic movement across several key roads in Delhi due to the demonstration.

The DMRC said the decision to close the stations was taken as part of security arrangements to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain smooth operations during the protest. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with security measures.
