Dibrugarh (Assam), 23 July (HS): Three youths were seriously injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on them in a shocking incident at Ghoramara in Assam's Lahowal on Wednesday night.

According to reports, the victims were travelling on a motorcycle when a group of unidentified miscreants, who arrived in a luxury vehicle, intercepted them and allegedly shot them in the legs before fleeing the spot.

The injured have been identified as Rontu Gogoi, Dipjyoti Gogoi and Mithu Gogoi. All three were rushed to a hospital in Dibrugarh, where they are undergoing treatment. Police have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and ascertain the motive behind the shooting.----------
