Kolkata, 22 July (H.S.): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra in connection with the alleged municipal recruitment scam in West Bengal. The Kamarhati MLA has been asked to appear before the central agency at 11 a.m. on July 29.

Earlier this week, the ED also summoned Mitra's wife, Archana Mitra, and his two sons, Swarup Mitra and Shubharup Mitra, as part of its investigation into the case.

The central agency had previously conducted searches at multiple premises linked to Madan Mitra in connection with the alleged recruitment irregularities in municipal bodies.

The summons to Mitra and his family members is part of the ED's ongoing probe into the alleged municipal recruitment scam, in which the agency is examining the alleged financial trail and questioning several individuals linked to the case.
