Guwahati, 22 July (HS): In view of severe flooding around Simaluguri town in Assam's Sivasagar district, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced two additional pairs of special trains to assist stranded passengers affected by the disruption of rail services.

Train operations between the Simaluguri–Namtiali and Simaluguri–Selenghat sections under the Tinsukia Division have been suspended due to safety concerns. Consequently, several long-distance trains to and from Dibrugarh and Tinsukia have been diverted via the Rangiya–Rangapara–Dibrugarh route, while some services have been short-terminated, short-originated or cancelled.

To ease passenger inconvenience, NFR will operate a special train between Tinsukia and Bhojo from July 22 to July 26. Train No. 05911 will depart Tinsukia at 12:00 pm and arrive at Bhojo at 2:00 pm, while the return service, Train No. 05912, will leave Bhojo at 3:00 pm and reach New Tinsukia at 4:35 pm.

Another special service will run between New Tinsukia and Moranhat during the same period. Train No. 05913 will depart New Tinsukia at 4:45 pm and arrive at Moranhat at 7:30 pm. The return Train No. 05914 will leave Moranhat at 8:00 pm and reach Tinsukia at 11:00 pm.

NFR also stated that three pairs of special trains operating between Lumding–Mariani Junction and Rangiya–Mariani Junction are already in service to facilitate the movement of stranded passengers on the affected route.-----------
