
Bhubaneswar, 21 July (H.S.): At least 25 passengers were injured, six of them critically, after a passenger bus overturned near Burukuna Square on National Highway-149 under Samal police station limits in Anugol district.
The bus was en route from Puri to Sundargarh carrying more than 50 passengers when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Emergency response teams, including fire services personnel and 108 ambulance units, promptly reached the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured passengers were initially shifted to Khamar Community Health Centre and later transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Anugul for further treatment.
The critically injured victims have been referred to medical facilities in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for advanced care.
Police have arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
