Tinsukia (Assam), 19 July (HS): A motorcyclist was killed on the spot in a tragic road accident at Bakul Bypass under Lahowal in Tinsukia district on Sunday.

According to reports, the victim was riding a Pulsar motorcycle (AS-23U-9220) from Dibrugarh towards Chabua when a speeding tanker rammed the bike from behind. The impact of the collision proved fatal and the rider killed instantly.

Police have seized the tanker, while the driver fled the scene after the accident. The deceased has been identified as Punananda Pathak, a resident of Chabua.

The body has been sent to Assam Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. Lahowal Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.------------
